Body Care Recipe: Tri-Doshic Essential Oil Blend
Amanda FurbeeShare
Our theme this month continues with the ever-changing and always balancing study of the Doshas. We have learned that nothing is good or bad, but rather that it may be out of balance. For our body care product this month, I wanted to introduce to you an oil blend that serves as a Tri-Doshic. This means that it has the ability to bring balance to each of three Doshas all at once!
Step 1:
Gather all your ingredients.
You will need:
1-1/2oz amber bottle
1/2oz fractioned coconut oil
1 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil
1 drop Rose Geranium Essential Oil
2 drops Fennel Essential Oil
2 drops Basil Essential Oil
Step 2:
Mix all the ingredients together in 1/2oz amber bottle with dropper.
Step 3: Label with all ingredients and date made
Step 4: Apply when needed to either your body or diffuser.
Here is a breakdown and a few suggestions for good balancing oil for each Dosha.
Vata balancing oils include sweet warming oils that soothe the mind and emotions and enhance serenity. Sweet Orange, Rose Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Frankincense can be helpful in Vata.
Pitta balancing oils include sweet and cooling oils. Rose, Fennel, Sandalwood would be great options for Pitta.
Kapha balancing herbs are generally warm, spicy and invigorationg, designed to wake you up on a damp, cold, gray day. Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Basil, Ginger are all good warming oils for balancing the Kapha in you.
