Summertime Sun Tea with Herbalist Amanda Furbee

My grandmother and mother always made a big batch of sun tea for the whole family to share. What a delicious infusion, the radiant beams of summer sunshine mixed with your favorite blend of herbs. I will never forget those days sitting outside and sipping on some ice tea. Times were so much slower then and it was nice to just sit and stare at the garden. It always felt like there was something extra special about sun tea. Maybe its because it took so long to make and it was maybe my first lesson’s in patience or its because the strength of the sun's energy has been infused into your cup of tea. Channel your own inner sun strength with your favoite blend of Sun Tea. This year I have been loving making this blend out of my garden: Lemon balm, Rosemary, Parsley, Lavender, Holy Basil, Peppermint and Lemongrass. Grab a handful or two of each herb and place in a gallon size container. You can used dried herbs as well. Place in the sunshine for 8-10 hours. Strain out the herbs and you have a delicious batch of sun tea. Keep in your refrigerator for a few days and sip on often. In June we created a few new tasty tea blends for you to test out as sun tea. They are delicious both hot and cold. -Hibiscus Delight- Enjoy each sip of this hibiscus and citrus filled blend.
