As I shake off 2020, my main personal goal this year is to nourish and provide self-care to myself. That’s right! I am being selfish…or not! It’s so important that we take care of ourselves and rest when we need to. Our society moves so fast all the time. We are constantly asked to shift everything on the drop of a dime. Over time that takes a toll on our physical and mental health. Big time!

So this year, I am dedicated to myself! To self growth. To rest. To growing my emotional and energetic body. To my relationships, especially to myself. Each month I will plan out a new realm to explore to help grow in that direction.

My self-growth challenge for April was to get outside 4 days a week, and soak up as much sunshine and physical exertion as I can. I have to admit it’s my favorite time of year. Everything is blooming and the streets seem to be filled with sweet and succulent smells of blossoms. This was the first month of 2021 that I have felt myself awaken. I had clarity of mind and energy in my body. My soul felt a shimmer of sunshine through to my bones, and joy filled my spirit.

Like many others that I know, the first part of 2021 has felt like a huge whiplash from last year’s events. Personally, and on a business level. I felt the sense of overwhelm and grief from the upheaval and disarray from the constant shift of the evolution of the Covid virus, along with many other necessary shifts. Getting outside this year has really helped to shift my perspective to moving forward with ease. It is amazing what disconnecting for a few hours, or even minutes, can do for peace of mind. I found myself often in nature communing with the new plants that were bursting out of the earth, and once again in awe that they come back year after year. The plotting of my garden each year brings so many lessons of abundance. As in life, removing the old and dead debris that no longer has a purpose and seeing the new growth right in front of my eyes reminds me that we always have enough, and so much more. I am thankful each moment to do this work and to continue to grow as an individual, friend, partner, stepmom and business owner. Blessings to the sunshine and fresh air to continually remind me of this.

Beginning in May, I will be diving into a hypnosis series! If you are looking for a hypnotherapist to work with I suggest checking out Mary Lou Hypnosis or Dixie Burns, one of our practitioners at The Herb Shoppe. Hypnosis has a very powerful and gentle way of reprogramming old habits.
