Commiphora myrrha
A strongly aromatic and bitter resin with a long tradition of spiritual and religious use. Myrrh is an excellent antimicrobial, and is commonly used for gum and oral health. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is known as mo yao and used to relieve pain due to stasis and stagnation, swelling, abscesses and ulcerations. Myrrh is often combined with frankincense, both in spiritual and medicinal uses.
*Myrrh is not to be used for internal use during pregnancy and lactation. Do not consider this a full list of all possible contraindications
