Propolis
Along with honey, bees also produce a medicinal substance called propolis. Propolis is a combination of beeswax, sap from certain trees and flowers, and elements from the bees themselves. Dating back to ancient Egypt, it has been used medically for its antiseptic, antiviral and anti-inflammatory actions. Propolis can be applied topically for minor burns, wounds, eczema, herpes sores, and other skin conditions. Due to its antimicrobial actions, it also helps treat throat and mouth conditions such as canker sores and viral or bacterial infections. It makes a good tonic for overall defense against infection, and for regulating candida.
