Myrrh has a rich, earthy, woody and balsamic aroma. It has powerful antiseptic and astringent properties and is good for wound healing, clearing mucus, chronic bronchitis and is a helpful addition to mouth washes. It strengthens the immune system and has an overall beneficial effect on the digestive system. Myrrh is often burned during yoga and meditation as it is said to awaken and excite the upper chakras.
