Passionflower is a nourishing nervine. It is useful in most common nervous conditions, including insomnia, nervous tension, anxiety, spasms, nervous palpitations, and stress-related hypertension. When treating anxiety, it is often mixed with lemon balm, St John's wort, hops, or lavender. For insomnia, it might be blended with more strongly sedative herbs such as valerian or California poppy. For palpitations or hypertension related to stress, passionflower is great combined with hawthorn!
